Until Veterans’ Day, I had no idea I was in an alternate dimension. What a shock to find our country’s flag flying in red, white, and blue.

By the end of the war, we were eager to end it and assimilate. They recognize nothing but our veterans. We’re grateful for at least that.

I love being a solider now, what with the daily backups. It’s like playing a VR war game, only better: my bank account keeps growing.

Veterans reminisce on lawns. Orange poppies, flutter. “I won’t tell you anything!” Rebooting Notortu, they drop poppies from the simulation.
